Fishing

In keeping the “Fish” in Fish & Game, the Association tries to cater to all outdoor pursuits. In fact, in its early years it was much more fishing oriented than otherwise.

PRF&GCA members were instrumental in founding the Downeast Salmon Federation. It was only with the expansion of range infrastructure that the balance of activities tipped towards the shooting sports.

Fishermen face many of the same issues as other outdoors folk do, such as lack of access , environmental degradation, and changing resources. We continue to encourage the use of our resources to bolster the fishing community in our service area. For example, PRF&GCA volunteered at the Boy Scout ice fishing day on Chalk Pond.

Workshops & Events

Catchmore Workshops: March 23, 2024, we're offering a fun-filled, one-day workshop event titled, "Catchmore Workshops" (view the event schedule and details). If this event is well attended, it could become a yearly event.

Fly Fishing Course: We offer a 5-week fly fishing course which normally starts in the April-May time period.

Do you have a fishing workshop or an event idea?  A few club members are interested in holding fly tying classes. Do you have any ideas for a new fishing event? Share your thoughts, and perhaps together we can make it happen.
